CANADA has 879,800 lakes, according to Montreal's McGill University. (some estimates suggest there are two million or more).

GREAT BEAR LAKE in the Northwest Territories is Canada's biggest lake (entirely within Canadian boundaries) at 31,328 km2. Half of the world's 10 biggest lakes are partly or entirely in Canada.
